Hemingford Street Project Monday September 16, 2024

Hemingford Street Project Enters Next Phase on Kearney Street

HEMINGFORD, Neb. — The ongoing Hemingford Street Project is progressing to Kearney Street, between Cheyenne Avenue and Sidney Avenue Monday September 16, as part of continued efforts to improve local infrastructure. Managed by Eric Reichart Construction, this phase of the project will involve extensive street demolition and paving.

Cheyenne Avenue, from Miles Street to Ord Street, will remain closed while newly laid concrete cures. Construction will take place daily from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Residents and local businesses are encouraged to plan their parking accordingly, as street access will be limited during these hours.

“We understand this may cause some inconvenience and appreciate the community’s patience as we work to enhance Hemingford’s roads for the future,” said a spokesperson for the Hemingford Public Works Department.

Hemingford Code 8-201 Article 2. Sidewalks

8-201 Sidewalks; Kept Clean. It shall be unlawful for the occupant of any lot or lots or the owner of any vacant lot or lots within the corporate limits to allow snow sleet, mud, ice or other substance to accumulate on the sidewalks or to permit any snow, sleet, ice, mud, or other substance to remain upon said sidewalk. All sidewalks within the business district shall be cleaned within five (5) hours after the cessation of a storm, unless the storm or fall of snow shall have taken place during the night, in which case the sidewalk shall be cleaned before eight (8:00) o’clock AM the following day: provided, sidewalks within the residential areas of the Municipality shall be cleaned within twenty-four (24) hours after the cessation of the storm.
