Hemingford Street Project Begins August 12

HEMINGFORD, Neb. (Aug. 8, 2024) — The Hemingford Street Project is set to begin on Monday, August 12, 2024. The project, undertaken by Eric Reichart Construction, will involve extensive street demolition and paving along Cheyenne Avenue.

Work will commence at the intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and Miles Street, progressing northward to Kearney Street. In addition to the roadwork, crews will also be working on water valve replacements at the intersection of Ord Street and Cheyenne Avenue.

Construction will take place between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. daily. Residents and businesses are advised to plan their parking arrangements accordingly, as street access may be limited during these hours.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the community’s patience as we work to improve Hemingford’s infrastructure.

Hemingford Code 8-201 Article 2. Sidewalks

8-201 Sidewalks; Kept Clean. It shall be unlawful for the occupant of any lot or lots or the owner of any vacant lot or lots within the corporate limits to allow snow sleet, mud, ice or other substance to accumulate on the sidewalks or to permit any snow, sleet, ice, mud, or other substance to remain upon said sidewalk. All sidewalks within the business district shall be cleaned within five (5) hours after the cessation of a storm, unless the storm or fall of snow shall have taken place during the night, in which case the sidewalk shall be cleaned before eight (8:00) o’clock AM the following day: provided, sidewalks within the residential areas of the Municipality shall be cleaned within twenty-four (24) hours after the cessation of the storm.
