HEMINGFORD UTILITY BILLS
All bills are due by the 15th of each month. A penalty of 10% will be added to any balances after the 20th. All bills must be paid in full by the next billing cycle. Failure to comply could lead to collections or the shutoff of utilities.
The Village of Hemingford has contracted with the Panhandle Collection Agency for all outstanding debts on utility bills. Those individuals who fail to pay their utility bill within the allotted time frame will receive a letter AND/OR disconnect notice after the 23rd of the month.

Individuals establishing new residency in Hemingford MUST complete an APPLICATION FOR UTILITIES and pay the required deposits. Residential services: $100 electric $50 water

The Village of Hemingford understands that COVID-19 is having an unprecedented disruptive effect on customer’s ability to pay monthly bills. Thus, the Village will not disconnect any customer for 60 days (subject to extension) under the following conditions:
The customer subject to the disconnection submits in writing a request to suspend the utility disconnection because of financial disruption to the customer’s personal or business income from COVID-19.
The customer shall indicate briefly the nature of the financial disruption such as:
Loss of income from contracting COVID-19.
Loss of income from caring for family member that has COVID-19.
Temporary or permanent loss of employment due to COVID-19
Income loss due to social distancing.
Loss of income from self-quarantine.
Other COVID-19 related reasons.
Each request will be evaluated by the Village Administrator on a case by case basis.
The customer shall indicate in writing a willingness to commit to a payment plan for the unpaid utility bills.
The customer indicates that they understand that providing false information to a public utility is a violation of Neb. Rev. Stat. 28-901 and 28-909 and is punishable as a class 1 misdemeanor subject to one- year imprisonment or a fine of $1,000.For more information please contact the Village Office at 308-487-3465
